Zambia Photos Sept 2007
Spent 2 fantastic weeks in Zambia at the end of September last year and there are some photos of the trip at www.jerrycallow.com.
I cannot speak highly enough of Kaingo and Mwamba in the South Luangwa and Chiawa and Old Mondoro in the Lower Zambesi.
Heartfelt thanks to all concerned and everyone we met.
It was a very special trip.
Just go
Jerry

Great photo set Jerry. The silouetted Giraffe is stunning and the camouflaged snake is terrific. You must have had a lot of quality time with those Lions and cubs. I'm fond of Servals, but haven't yet seen one -- glad to see you got one! I'll be Zambia in October and very much looking forward to it! Thanks for the pics.

Hi Jerry
You guys came in after the morning we drove out, we had stayed 9 nights at Kaingo- In Sept 8, out Sept 17(6 @ Kaingo & 3 @ Mwamba). Then left to do 6 nights @ Tafika camp.
You have some nice images there, my fav's are the Female Lion on the Impala caked in mud, great stuff! She looks like a bronze statue in a couple of those poses.
Looks like you had Patrick for some part of your safari, he's one of the best guides I've experienced, don't you think?
Here's some of my images from your stay, I'm sure you'll spot some fav's from the Hollywood & Mwamba prides.

Hi Marc,
How are you ?
You've got some fantastic pictures !! Good stuff.
I agree with you - Patrick was a lovely guy and a great guide. We had alot of fun with him.We also enjoyed being with Innocent and Ian out at Mwamba ( which is a great great spot). I must also mention in despatches Boaz at Old Mondoro who managed to find us 7 different leopards in a day ( Sept 30th)! Happy times.
All the best

Some outstanding photos Jerry. Very rare shot of a lion in a tree in the South Luangwa. Did your guide offer any information as to how often he had seen that occurence? Did you do drives and walks at Mwamba?

GreenDrake,
I got the impression that although not that common it does happen with some of the lions in the prides around Kaingo and Mwamba. All I do know is that it was one hell of a "spot" !!
We walked from Kaingo to Mwamba which was a lovely walk however we mainly stuck to game drives. Those who did more walking enjoyed it alot and had some interesting experiences.
