Brookstone, I'll try that. I've now read so much about binocs thanks to several threads atravelynn provided. I guess I need to get the larger pair, larger than I thought. Anyway, it seems there is much to consider and emphasis on personal preference. I'm going to look at Ritz and Kit's Camera's too. I'm scared and excited about this trip though!

Sorry we will miss both of you. We will be in northern parks from May 23 to the end of the month before moving to Ruaha and Mikumi for a few days into June. We are sure you will have exciting safaris and look forward to your trip reports. Dick

We will be doing the northern circuit June 5 - 11, then move to Rwanda to do the gorillas! The hubby has been the past 2 summers with the kids, and now it's my turn. Well, I guess I should clarify, only one of the kids has done a safari, both kids have done mission work in Rwanda . . . hubby missed his safari 'cause he ended up in Zanzibar (story similar to that of imelda's).

Do you have a suggestion as to where a good place is to purchase the binoculars? Heading to Serengeti June 3rd for a few days then to the Crater for one night, Manyara one night and Tarangire for the rest. Anyone else around these places at these times? I'd love to meet! We depart the 12th
