Jules, saw on recent thread your mentioning of less than desired aspects with safari company you had on trip to n. Tanzania some 18 months ago. Have followed your comments but could not recall that particular post. Welcome your insight as to issues there as we may be considering same company for return visit next year. Would you mind covering those for me and even name of company. Know you are well traveled and appreciate your insight. Thanks Dick

Hi Dick
Patty kindly posted the link brief report.
Basically we did travel with 2Afrika as I know you did. Let me say now that I have NO PEOBLEMS with 2Afrika they handled everything very very well and I really cannot fault them. Predators were there ground op as you know. We had a few issues with things with our guide like wanting to get out early to the crater he was just not interested also some issues with Serengetti accomidation being changed at the last minute ot a totally different area of the park where nothing seemed to be happening hence the reason that lodge was empty except for us! Our guide/driver also should try out for the rally through the Saharah because you wouldne't believe how quickly he made it from the northern Serengetti back to Arusha! I guess the thing that made me think I would probably concider giving my business to another company really came when we were taken into their office in Arusha to let them know how things went. When we and some other people with different guides expressed some concerns we were made to feel like we were being told off by the owner.
Now I want to emphasise that this is our experience only and I know you do have other experiences to back you up so like anything search around and see how you feel about things. Bottom line we had a FANTASTIC trip but for our next trip we contacted local ops and preadators were not one of them basically because we felt there were lots more out there to be in touch with.
So where are you planning on going and when?
Happy planning & if there is anything specific I can answer please ask

Patty, thanks for finding the thread for me. I recalled parts of it but ...
Jules, thanks for clarifying couple of points.
We are thinking of repeat to at least Serengeti and N. Crater maybe Tarangire (is a driving safari) and then to Ruaha and maybe Mikumi. A lot of travel but for 35th wedding anniversary will be special. Probably should venture off to new areas but we simply enjoyed previous trips too much. And, based on contributions from this board we are certainly not locked into a particular company at least not for northern Tanzania. Thanks for comments and asking. Dick
