Jerusalem to Tel Aviv
I need advice! We are flying from Tel Aviv to Eilat on Friday 19th May. Our tour group leaves Jerusalem by coach at 2 am in order to arrive in Tel Aviv in time for the 6 am flight.
Our two options are:
1. Go with the tour coach since there is no cost involved and wait around at Ben Gurion until it is time to go to Sde Dov for our 7.30 am flight to Eilat. This of course means getting up at 1.30 to be ready to leave! (Or not going to sleep at all!)
2. Travel from Jerusalem to Sde Dov by taxi. I would prefer this option since we are going straight to Petra and will have a very full day there BUT:
- what would it cost
- how long would it take
Thanks in advance!
Jen

Hi, Jen...
I, too, have been planning a trip to Israel in May.
I found the name of a limo company on the internet. I don't have any experience with them personally. But looking at their website they offer private taxis all over Israel.
They have an email address on their website. You could email them to find out how much it would cost to have them drive you where you want to go and how long it would take.
Please be aware that taxis charge extra for driving at certain hours of the day/night. So, if you are not driving during "regular business hours" it might be a higher fare.

Good luck with your plans and have a wonderful trip.

Hi Jen,
I have never flown out of Sde Dov, and as an Israeli would anyway travel by bus or train from Jerusalm to Tel Aviv, but just a thought here. Who are you flying to Eilat with? Israir or Arkia? Have you asked them if they have a shuttle from Jerusalem?

Thanks for the advice! I have contacted the limo company and they will charge $65 to drive us from Eilat to Sde Dov. A bit heavy in South African currency but definitely considering we're not paying much more than that for both of us to fly to Eilat, but I think it is worth the extra couple of hours sleep!
In the meantime, I am also waiting to hear from Arkia about a shuttle service.
Thanks again!
Jen
