Is there more than one type of SA Plug?

Yes, there are two. Not sure if they are unique to SA - most SA stuff is English or Dutch as that's who colonized southern Africa. One is the same as England - that big three pronged thing. The other is a small two pin plug. We have an international kit with all the different plug types. Make sure your devices can convert the different current, otherwise you also need an electric converter (I can't remember what they are really called). We take so many devices, plug in flashlights, etc, we take an electric strip and the two adapters (or more) so we have enough plugs for the camera batteries, phones, flashlights, iPad, etc. We also make sure to have adapters for the car lighter for at least the camera and phone so we always have juice for them.

The only South African plug I've seen is indeed a big three pronged thing but it is NOT the same as England. The South African plug has round pins, the UK plug has rectangular pins.
