Holiday Inn near JNB Airport?
I will just spending one night in JNB before contining on to Botswana. Has anyone stayed at this hotel? I need a hotel that is near the airport just for one nights sleep, how is the Holiday Inn? Any advise would be helpful. Thanks.

We just came back from a safari a few weeks ago (i'm eventually going to put up a trip report) but we stayed their and its fine. Basic holiday inn. Just hop on the shuttle located near the int'l terminal. Its only a 3-5 minte ride. Enjoy.

There are actually two Holiday Inns near the airport, one on the grounds and one a mile or so away. I've stayed at both and far prefer the one on the grounds. Both are acceptable, but I believe the closer one to be nicer than the other. ZZ

Thanks for the info. Novsafari, where did you go on your safari? If Botswana, what trip did you take? I am taking "The Botswana Explorer" 10 day serviced camping safari through CCAfrica.

If you are in International transit and don't want or need to move from the airport, there is a transit hotel within the airport. I haven't used it myself, but it is a hotel in the Protea Hotel Group so should be fine. The URL has recently changed and it's a fairly long one, so go to the homepage www.proteahotels.com and select Transit from the hotel drop-down list.

Near JNB airport:
inside airport (just cross the road) - Intercontinental (more expensive/ very nice and confortable).
If you get the mini bus (4 minutes) you can stay in Holiday INN (less expensive)
