Help with Egypt Air

Can anyone help me re;Egypt Air's plane and business class seats.
I am in the researching part of getting our plane tickets to Egypt next Sept. I have 2 choices-I can cash in American Airlines & get 1 business free & pay for one. (An extra stop)
Or I can buy 2 business on Egypt air. I know nothing of this airlies-how do their business class seats compair-service-comfort etc.
Thanks in advance for any info-Chris

I flew Egypt Air's Business class from Frankfurt to Cairo, then Cairo to Dar es Salaam last month. Both flights were on 737s and the Business class seats weren't of international standards. They were more like domestic Business class seats on a 737. If you can check on what equipment they will be using on the route you plan to take, that would be a good idea. They may have better planes from, say, JFK to CAI, with better seats.

Hi, I am like you, pondering what airline would be best to fly business class. Unfortunately I cannot afford the huge Qantas fare of up to AUS$9000 per person from Australia so hunting around like you. Although, I think even with the Qantas business class it is a code share from Asia to Cairo. Here are some things I have come across in my travels;

A webesite that lists all the virtues of business class seats. It unfortunately does not have egyptair in it, but it has other middle east airlines.

This one has seats of business class from a guy who wrote a story about it for an airline forum;

For me, singapore airlines seems to be the best option as it has the widest seat of 27 to 34 inches, seat pitch of 51 to 58 inches, and a full 180 degree bed.. however, it happens to be in the more pricy area. I will have to keep waiting to see if a special comes up, preferably a two for one.

Have fun on your holiday!!!

The pics of his business class seat show NO legroom... it looks like squished economy but with the full price tag!

Thank you all for all the help. I will check those sites out.
When you get one flight free with miles & just have to pay for one it sure helps. We flew first class on Singapore to Thailand a few years ago-it was wonderful. (One seat free one paid for) It sure makes a difference in those long flights.
The Egypt air flights I saw on Business were 757-200 and a 777-200. Tried to look up plane configurations but couldn't find. Thanks Chris
PS Elizabeth-just E-mailed your guide-didn't want him to forget me & that as soon as I got plane tickets I'd let him know. He got right back to me.

What about flying British Airways World Traveller Plus as a compromise? It's available on both legs of the journey (to London, and from London-Cairo). If you buy both seats, you've got a decent chance of being offered an operational upgrade on at least one of the legs of the trip, and WTP is a lot more comfortable than economy if your budget doesn't stretch to buying to business class seats. I'm not sure if you can redeem AA miles for BA flights for the North America-London leg of the trip.

Thanks-I am aware I cannot fly British till I arrive in London. I think thats the way I'm going since I have miles on American. I called them yesterday I can even do the outbound end of this month & homebound end of Nov. I'm getting excited.
American said they would do it all for me-Chris

YaHOOO I got my tickets.
I used our American FF miles & got Business all the way going. The problem was they would only hold res for 5 days. i tossed 7 turned all night trying to figure our what to do. The thought of calling every 5 days to see if they would hold for 5 more etc. till we could book return (330 days out)
I called a travel club I belong to & Lufthansa lets you book out longer. While the business was WAY too much I figure for a flight AFTER a 30 day vacation would be easier.
We fly out Sept 28th 2010. fly home October 25th.
How is Lufthansa Coach? I like there is only 1 stop-Munich.
I have e-mailed the guide & asked him to start puttin the pieces together. We have 1 week in Heraghada at a timeshare October 9-16th.
|Now it is real-Thanks everyone Chris

I called Lufthansa & got our seats changed-I had inavertantly seated us ontwo isle seats. It has a 2-4-2 configuration from Munich to SFO. I also found out there was dinner 7 snack on coach & drinks-Great.
Then---- I called United who codeshares with Lufthansa-I can upgrade our seats for 20thousnad per seat-the cleass we got is OK,but have to wait 331 days before. Either way it goes sounds wonderful to me. Both United & Lufthansa were wonderful to deal with-Also American where we got our 2 business seats. life is good!!!!!!
We areoff to Cancun in 3 weeks so when we get back I can just think about Egypt & Jordan-Chris
