help vacationing in Israel
Hello, I was wondering if anyone had answers to these questions:
1)I want to go to a place with a significant other for a romantic weekend (and hopefully not too expensive). I have heard that tzimmers are nice, if anyone has any information on them. Or if there is another nice place. Maybe Eilat? Dead Sea?
2)Is sky diving an option in Israel?
Thank you in advance to everyone for their time and help!

worldbfriz: we stayed in the Golan Heights for 2 nights in a bed and breakfast run by a kibbutz. The views were unbelievable, and the cabin was lovely. You can hike and relax. Lovely breakfast served in a basket each morning. Contact miketour.co.il for the name of the place as he was our guide and he made the arrangements for us. Tell him Julie in Dallas recommended it.

Depends WHEN you plan going. Summer can be extremely hot both in Eilat and the Dead Sea.
I guess you plan staying in Israel for longer than a weekend, right? In that case yes, the Galillee or even the Golan heights can be wonderful. There are LOTS of Tzimers there, some private, some in Kibutz, but you have to reserve in advance.

1. Best place is a Zimmer in the north. There are many places, places can vary in prices considerably. Rosh Pina has several nice places, but they are quite costly.
I was in two nice places which were pretty private and had nice view because of the height of the village.
One was in Carcom, which overlooks the sea of the Galilee (was very hot in the summer).
Second one was in Ramot Naftali, much more beautiful view, should less hot in the summer. Organized Quad bikes (ATVs in American English) tours are available in the area.
2. Yes it is. I think the cheapest option is in Sde Teiman in the Negev desert - try to ask a tour operator or hotel/accomodation owner for discount coupon, they are widely available and may lower the cost by 30%.

Check out this website www.weekend.co.il for information about zimmers all over israel. We are going to Israel this summer and part of our trip we'll be staying in a zimmer in a vegetarian moshav called Amirim that I have heard wonderful things about. It is not far from Tzfat, Rosh Pina, and the Kinneret and is up on the mountain with wonderful views of the Galil. We booked our zimmer already and it wasn't too expensive but some of them were a bit pricey. We're also staying for a few nights at the Scots Hotel - it is pricey but everyone said that it is really beautiful and perfect for a special occasion. so we are starting our first few days in Israel this summer at this hotel (celebrating our anniversary) - Lots of friends have encouraged me to book a zimmer so we're looking forward to doing this. Good luck.
