Have flights, now need suggestions

Have flights in and out of Joberg for January of next year, giving me 10 days on the ground for my family(including 2 kids age 12 and 8). Any suggestions. Want to include at least 2 nights at a game reserve. Had a great experience at Mala Mala last trip, and may do that, but dont know if that is my best bet with the kids will also need head down to capetown. Budget not too much of an issue.

How old are the kids? If they are at all into animals, I would have thought MM was a must.
Beach at Plettenberg Bay is a nice option for a couple of days.

Kids are 12 and 8. I am thinking Mala Mala for 2 nights, then somewhere else. Considering Phinda, for a different type of experience.

If you haven't had the chance to stay at Phinda you are missing a beautiful lodge. Singita is also top notch - I have pictures and reviews at http://www.bombasticlife.com/paf_sou...ock_lodge.html

Bombasticlife,
I'd be interested in your Phinda experience. When, how long, if you did any of the many activities offered, highlights.

I'll be there in early July.

I would second the Phinda recommendation. Great place with 7 (if I recall correctly) different ecosystem including a very rare section of sand forest. They have both black and white rhinos as well as the rest of the big five and re-introduced servals to the property last year. At the time you (ellene) will be there, they will be offering turtle viewing tours. We did one in November and saw a loggerhead and then got to watch a leatherback lay her eggs and the walked her into the surf. Unforgettable! We were lucky and you can't count on seeing them but but this year CCA had the only turtle concession so chances were good.

Mr. Bombasticlife
Interesting web site you have. Rather over the top, frantic, with promotions, IMHO. I did not stay round to read anything. FWIW.

If you like cheetahs, Phinda is awwsome, however if you want to see Leopards, I suggest Sabi Sands area. I have been to both Lion Sands and Londolozi and leopard sightings are quite common there.
