Go Bus Tours

Hi Travelers,

Looking for someone who has utilized the Go Bus Tours for Egypt specifically the 15 day Pyramids & Beaches or using the GoBus Passes where you hop on & hop off. What were the accommodations like? Tour guides? Any info (bad or good) would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I have their brochure here and have been watching for their buses. I can't say as I've actually seen their buses, but I keep getting updates from them, so they must be in real business here. I keep seeing the GOEGYPT buses instead and get them confused.

Anyway, I think you might have better luck asking this question over on the Thorn Tree at Lonely Planet. We don't have as many back-packer types here in Fodors as they do. If you use them or find out anything more about them, I would love to have you come back here and post again so I can learn more about them too.

Good luck and thanks.

Thank you for your reply.

I have put a question to Thorn Tree but have as of yet to receive a reply.

Keep me posted if you see a GoBus go by.

Any other suggestions on which tour groups to use in Egypt?

Am I right in assuming you want inexpensive? Have you looked at Intrepid Travlers trips? They go on a real low budget I think. Check them out anyway.

Casual,
Hi! I finally made contact w/ GoBus. They do not offer the Go Passes anymore as the tours have become very popular.

I will check out the Intrepid Travelers as per your recommendation.

That sounds like a good story anyway. I suspect the truth is that they couldn't afford to run empty buses around hoping there would be travelers wanting to get on at most of the stops. The tours they can say that they have to have X-amount of passengers to take the tours, and cancel them if they don't get a minimum. The other way they have to run buses with or without tourists to service.

It was a great idea, but probably the market isn't there that they hoped would be. Mealesh!

GoBus does exist. Can't say that they are well organized. Had some very disappointing scenarios but yet still had a fabulous time.

Yes, GoBus travels to Dahab on the Sinai Pennisular.

I went on the shorter Egypt tour 2 years ago. GoBus is a budget tour group and typically has a lot of younger travelers but all are welcome. The hotels were all very nice and the tour guide was knowledgeable. No complaints at all.
