Egypt Tourist Visas

I see that I can purchase a travel visa upon arrival - do they accept american dollars and how much is it?

Yes, USD will be fine and I think the amount is $15.

I think they ONLY accept USD and it is $15 still. It's probably best, if possible to have correct change.

Just a slight correction (although I know you will have USD)....I do believe they also accept euros and British pounds.

Good point Mido. Not every nationality can walk in and get a visa at the airport. You might want to check with the Egyptian Embassy in your country to be sure.
Americans, Canadians, and Brits certainly can. Probably most from the EU can too, but everyone should check to be certain.

If you arriving in Cairo, once you get off the bus, head into the terminal and look for what appears to be two bank kiosks. this si where they sell the visas. ge it and then get in line for apssport control. (try to be the first off the bus - the line can get long)
