Egypt/ Greece tour recommendation
Hello,
My wife and I are attempting to plan a tour of Greece/Egypt, and were wondering if anyone out there has a tour or agency that they would recommend? We were looking at 9-14 day range. Thanks in advance.

I think I would pick one country or the other & savor it.We have been to Greece on 2 different trips-I LOVE it. In Sept/Oct we will be on our first trip to Egypt/Jordan-Enjoy whatever you choose.
We did Greece on our own but I have hired Ahmed who I found on this site for Egypt.

I went to Greece two years ago with Smithsonian Journeys and did their Footsteps Through Time tour. Had a great time, very educational and very well run. And the best part, one hotel in Athens (Divani Caravel) throughout the whole trip.

If you are doing 9-14 days, I definitely would pick one country or the other as you are going to lose a day or so with traveling between the two.
Egypt(having just done it in December with Lady Egypt Tours) definitely needs a longer visit if you intend to see Cairo, possibly Alexandria on a daytrip,Aswan,Luxor,Abu Simbel with a 3/4 day cruise.
With Greece, you must decide if you are doing some islands along with Athens and possibly other cities or areas.
When are you going?

I'd agree with the above, 9 days is too short for both. You might be able to squeeze a 7 day tour of Egypt and a few days either side with Greece in but would you be able to enjoy it?
If it is just a snapshot of Greece that you are looking for or just the capital for a few days then I think you could probably do it.
I dont know of an agent that does both Egypt and Greece but I use Egypt Quality Tours for my Egypt tours each time I go. you could ask them if they have a contact for Greece? but I dont know.
Perhaps someone else will pop in to your posting that has someone who does both.

I have done tours of Egypt (Splendours of Egypt) and Greece (Grecian Dreams) with Insight Vacations. However both tours we almost 2 weeks duration each. While there are other different itineraries, of a shorter duration, offered I don't think you could (or should) try to do both countries within 2 weeks. You would be far to rushed and would not have enough time to really appreciate all that you would want to see.

I agree with all of the above - one or the other would be better.
Have done both with different companies seperate times. To enjoy them and really experience the countries spend more time. Highly recommend a tailor made tour in Egypt - you get less of the group thing of which am not the biggest fan!
Also a sailing on a Dahabiya as distinct from the big cruise boats down the nile - a most unique expereince that i would do again in a heart beat. (can recomend a fabulous guide as well!)
In Greece - where do you start! We have done both an organised cruise of the islands and done it ourselves via the ferries. Both good expereinces.
The key thing about both countries is they run on Greek or Egyptian time so allow for it and expect it. It is all part of the travel experience. Spend some time in each place - try locally if you can so you can really experience the country. Eat where the locals eat - never at a tourist restaurant - can't go wrong then.
What ever you do have fun and enjoy!
