Just booked: Nigeria and Gabon

I just cashed in 80,000 Delta SkyMiles for a trip in August into Lagos, Nigeria and back from Libreville, Gabon, and would welcome information on Lagos (my time in Nigeria will be short and limited to the Lagos area) and Gabon -- I am leaning towards visiting Lope NP, which I can reach by train, seems more "wild" than Loango, is much less expensive than Loango and, most importantly to me, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I will likely spend five days in Lope, trying to see mandrills from Lope Hotel and then moving to Mikongo to try to see lowland gorillas. Has anyone visited Lope?

Thanks, Michael

Even before opening, I just knew it was you!

I'm available for adoption, if you need a travel partner

You go guy! Sounds great.

Sandi, you're welcome to jump in my luggage.

I just got back from Micronesia and the Philippines -- some amazing destinations -- and posted pictures on Australia and Asia board if you're interested.

This year is going to be very busy travelwise for me -- next up is El Salvador in February, and I'll get back to Middle East in May (Jordan, Syria and Lebanon) and finally back to Africa in August -- I haven't been to Africa since 2006, which is too long.

Ha ha! The title was a dead giveaway that it was Michael. Can't wait to hear about it all.

No info for you but I'll be all ears--or in this case eyes--when you return.
