Duba Plains - a visual celebration

Duba plains is pure magic - just have a glimpse of what the area has on offer:

For those who have been there, have a look once again.
For those who are going there, keep on dreaming.
For those who are thinking about going on safari: give this area maybe a thought.

Greetz,

Johan

Your pictures are incredible-wish I could catch a flight to Duba Plains right now. I almost feel like I am there while viewing them.

Fantastic photos Johan! Thank you for posting the link. I will be at Duba in July, so I don't dream too much longer You suggested I swap Duba for Chitabe that time of year. Well, I couldn't quite give up Duba (perhaps bc of photos like these?), but I did add 3 nights at Chitabe Trails to my itinerary.

I'm running out of adjectives to describe how wonderful your photos are, but here goes...

admirable, alluring, angelic, appealing, beauteous, bewitching, charming, classy, comely, cute, dazzling, delicate, delightful, divine, elegant, enticing, excellent, exquisite, fair, fascinating, fine, foxy*, good-looking, gorgeous, graceful, grand, handsome, ideal, lovely, magnificent, marvelous, nice, pleasing, pretty, pulchritudinous, radiant, ravishing, refined, resplendent, shapely, splendid, statuesque, stunning, sublime, superb, symmetrical, taking, well-formed.

Whew! I think that about does it.

Note to self: Need to have thesaurus handy when complimenting Johan's pics. ;-)

Thank you all for your kind comments.
These are the pictures that can be seen from next month on in an album that will be given to Duba.

Those photos were taken at the following months:

June 2005 - October 2006 - April 2007.

Hari,

I am only visiting Duba Plains again next year. The only other camp I am going to visit next year will be my favorite camp in Botswana: Lebala.

Dana,

Hopefully Duba Plains provide you some magical moments. Anyway, I am pretty convinced you gonna have a splendid trip.

Divewop,

Incredible collection of adjectives. Very glad you liked them.

The photos will now be removed because I'll need space for other things right now. Sorry for that.

Kind regards,

Johan

I posted them again because several people asked me if they could see them.

As usual you have captured amazing action in beautiful light. The buffalo-elephant encounter surprised me.

Hi Johan

I am trying to decide between chitabe main camp and duba plains. Do you think you could re-post your pictures or email me a few at [email protected]. Thanks!

R.J.

My pictures from my last trip can be seen again.

If you are going between June - August I would prefer to stay at Chitabe Main Camp because at that time of year driving around Duba Plains can be quite difficult because of the floods.

Also to have a reasonable chance of seeing a kill, I would suggest to stay more than 4 days in f.e. October-early November or late March-April.

Best regards,

Johan
