I wish I could go to Africa!

When I was 16 (which was about 40 years ago!), I went to Africa with my mother and my aunt. I would love to go again, but my husband has serious health issues, and travel far from home is out of the question. It makes me sad that I can't go again; it was such a wonderful experience.

You could travel alone. I leave my husband and venture out. He is content to remain at home. You can even join a group for Africa travel. However, the health issues may be too serious for you to leave him for a couple of weeks.

Do you have an orange cat? I did once and still think of Tom often. He had a long happy life and died at age 21.

Does reading these reports help or hurt your desire to return to Africa?

Best wishes.

Yes, I have an orange cat (and a brown tabby). And had two orange cats prior to these.

I'm afraid to be too far away in case my husband has medical issues come up while I'm gone. I need to be close enough to get home fairly quickly so Africa is not an option. I love reading the posts but it makes me wish I could go again.

Although my husband is not sick as such, he has a bad fractured leg from a motorcycle accident and continues to be non weight bearing on crutches. But I have this trip to TZ. booked a long time ago so its still a go for tomorrow. Its great how people want to help out and I was able to farm out the dog and arrange for people to bring meals etc. as he will be by himself. he really wants me to go too. I hope you can realize your dream, too.

I hope your husband's health issues will work out and that you can return to Africa. In the meantime, you've been once - which has left you with many memories. Many people never have such an opportunity!

I wish all the best for you and your husband.

Dear Orangecat...

"The aborigines don't have a word for time, but they do have one for dreams. You can't describe the dreaming in words, but somehow they work to bring people and places together......"

I hope that somehow your dreams will bring you to the place you yearn to visit.
