julia - I'm very interested in your comments on Iran, as I'd love to visit! Did you write a TR? Also, did you travel independently, or with a tour?

thursdaysd-- yes, I did do a trip report of sorts and you can find it here at http://www.fodors.com/community/afri...ome-photos.cfm It's more of a Q&A than a 'today we did this and such', but it does cover most of the details about our travels as well as the places we visited, hotels, impressions and experiences. My 33-year-old daughter and I travelled together, part of the time with a small group from London and part of the time alone with driver and guide. We enjoyed it all tremendously and I can't wait to return - there's so much we didn't see!
