Cheetah cub did not survive

Haven't been reading the Kwando sightings reports but heard this morning from Spencer the "show-stopping" cheetah cub that were seen at Lebala for the last almost a year, got killed. His not sure what happened, My last months at Lebala I had countless opportunities to watch and photograph mother and cub.Truly sad because she was destined to be on the "catwalk" for the photographers

Hi Alwyn,

Yes - it was devastating when I learnt of this. I spent a lot of time with the female cheetah and cub in Sept/Oct and then all of a sudden end of October he disappeared.

and Yes again, agree with the "cat walk" comment.

Regards,
Hari

Pangolin, Hari!

And, I'm so sorry about the cheetah cub - there aren't enough of them!

Hari,
I love all your pictures. It's so sad to loose any cheetah. Every single cheetah counts.

I'm looking forward to my first visit to Kwando camps this March: Kwara, Lagoon and Lebala.

Wonderful photos, Hari. Now I know what I missed when I arrived at Lebala towards the end of October and Spencer told me that the cub had disappeared.

Thanks, Marc - I think I used the 80-400VR with the D300. With the D200 possibly, the 70-300VR....... I carried both of them for just in case!

Hi! Sounds like a nice itinerary including, Zambia. Will keep you posted of final dates shortly. I don't think I will be doing Lebala/Lagoon this time.
