Santillana del Mar is very small -
an afternoon worth.
I would definitely include San Sebastian and Santander.

Segovia hotel??, Right on the plaza , clean, reasonable and parking.. Infanta Isabella..Can't go wrong. San Seb.. another great locale..Pension Alemeda, on a ped. street, walking dist. to everywhere. Super clean and comfortable, and very reasonable. Rated 2* due to not having a dedicated street entrance but don't let that faze you.... Is on the 2nd floor with lift..the host and hostess are really great. How I envy you!! You are in for an unbelievable time.. Tapas y cava all around so have 1 or 2 or???? for me!!!

Joy; We need to know what your interests are before answering your question.

We have used www.booking.com/spain for most of our hotels in Aug/Sept.

If you use this site just make sure it included 'free cancellation' and it will clearly be outlined.

Well what are you hoping to get from seeing these locations?
I live and work in Galicia and often travel the route along the North Coast.
So I do feel that maybe you could seek out better locations.
So maybe you could explain this please?
I assume from this thread, although you never responded, that you are using the north coast railway line.

Is that correct?

If you use http://www.booking.com MAKE SURE you GET IN WRITING if breakfast is included, if free cancellation (as Iris well pointed out), the rate for parking (if so needed). In MORE than one ocassion, only the printed copy of the reservation helped me as the hotels pushed back and stated that the site misrepresented the offer. If your reservation does not have it print, INSIST on it or do not make the reservation. This has only happened to me with booking.com and I have booked hundreds of hotel online throughout the years.

Agree with Viajero2; When you look at a hotel on this site, it does clearly say, free cancellation or free breakfast if it is offered. It could be both, one or the other or neither.

So if it does not clearly show, if it is not offered.

If FC or FB shows up on the screen when you book, it will be on the confirmation copy you print.

Of out 8 destinations in Spain this coming Aug/Sept. 6 were made on the booking.com/spain site and when FC and FB was offered, it is on the confirmation printout. We do not book without free cancellation.

With FC, we cancelled a night at one destination and the cancellation e-mail was immediate.

For parking, I just looked at one reservation and it shows what the parking costs will be at the hotel in euros. Parking is expensive.

But again, I agree with Viajero2, anything can happen.
