The best of the Kenwood wines—Cabernet Sauvignons, Zinfandels, Syrahs, and Merlots—come from Jack London's old vineyard, in the Sonoma Mountain AVA. Many of these, along with some value-priced reds and whites, are poured in a tasting room housed in one of the property's original barns. The crisp Sauvignon Blanc, though, is what wins the winery its highest accolades. Fine on its own, especially on a hot summer day, it pairs well with oysters, chicken, light fish, and vegetarian dishes. The premium spirits and wine distributor Pernod Ricard USA purchased Kenwood in 2014 and plans to expand its national reach.
