Porto's Bakery

Porto's Bakery Review

Waiting in line at Porto's is as much as part of the experience as is indulging in a roasted pork sandwich and chocolate-dipped croissant. Locals love this neighborhood bakery and café that has been an L.A. staple for more than 50 years. This is its second location, just minutes away from the studios; it's a great spot to take a stroll and peruse the consignment shops run by former movie stylists. The crowded café bustles with an ambitious lunch crowd, but counter service is quick and efficient. Go for one of its tasty Cuban sandwiches like the media noche or the pan con lechon (roasted pork) sandwich, or try the filling ropa vieja (shredded beef) plate. Skipping dessert here would just be wrong. Your sweet tooth will thank you later.
