Fodor's Expert Review Musée de l'Amérique Francophone

A former student residence of the Séminaire de Québec houses this museum, which focuses on the history of the French in North America. Among other things, you can view about 20 of the museum's 400 landscape and still-life paintings, some from as early as the 15th century, along with French colonial money and scientific instruments drawn from collections created by the priests for the education of their students, starting in 1806. The attached former chapel is used for exhibits, conferences, and cultural activities. An exhibit called The Rediscovered Colony shows artifacts from the first French attempt at colonization of the area in 1540.
