Todos Santos Eco Adventures. Todos Santos Eco Adventures offers a number of land- and water-based adventures. Choose from cliff walks, rock climbing, mountain treks, or fishing trips. Friendly guides pride themselves on thorough knowledge of the area, the environment, and the culture of the region. Their weeklong Todos Santos Cooking Adventure combines Mexican lessons with local sightseeing. Whichever of the offerings you choose, you'll feel like you're traveling with a savvy friend. The Jauregui family runs the operation with great care, and it's apparent. Ask about the casitas if you need overnight accommodations. Guaycura #88, La Poza, Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, 23300. West on Calle Olachea, follow signs toward La Poza. (Call for detailed directions). 612/145–0189; 619/446–6827 in U.S.

Todos Santos offers great surfing areas for beginners to experts. The advantage here is that the crowds, including the swarming masses from the cruise ships, don't head up to these waters, which makes for a much more relaxed scene in the water and on the beach.

Los Cerritos, south of Todos Santos on Mexico 19, offers gentle waves to beginners during the summer and more challenging breaks for advanced surfers during the northwest swell from December to March. San Pedrito, also south of town, offers great surfing for experienced surfers during the winter swells, with a number of popular, low-key, surf-oriented motels along the beach. In summer, the surf is generally pretty mellow along this stretch, so locals and surfers who demand greater challenge head to the Corridor or areas along the east side of the Cape for more satisfying breaks.

Costa Azul Surf Shop. Costa Azul Surf Shop is a small shop on the north end of the beach by the cliffs at Los Cerritos. The staff is friendly, and, for such a small space, there's a good selection of board rentals, as well as T-shirts, shorts, and accessories to buy. You'll see its stickers on cars all over the Cape, and the interactive map on its web site is a great resource for information on surf spots all over Baja Sur. Playa Los Cerritos, Los Cerritos, Baja California Sur, 23300. 624/142–2771 San José del Cabo office. Daily 8–6.

Todos Santos Surf Shop. Swing by Todos Santos Surf Shop for board rentals, to arrange a lesson, buy gear, or get that ding in your board repaired. Other activities options are also available, including day trips to Magdalena Bay during whale- watching season, and to La Paz to swim with sea lions and whale sharks. Calle Hidalgo, between Colégio Militar and Rangel, Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, 23305. 612/145–1114. Closed Sun.
