Old Market

Fodor's Review:

Two blocks south of the Parque Central is Heredia's Old Market (Mercado Viejo), which has fewer souvenirs for sale than San José's Mercado Central but is less cramped and safer. On the next block to the southeast is the Mercado Nuevo (New Market), which holds dozens of sodas (simple restaurants).
