Fodor's Expert Review Kauçuk Hotel

Paşacamii Sok., No. 22, Antalya, Antalya, 07100, Turkey Fodor's Choice

This small boutique hotel is made up of two houses that have been authentically restored with an eye to contemporary design. The garden area is spacious, and the rooms have a nice mix of new and old, with modern art and bathrooms, Turkish rugs, and original wood ceilings. Small classical music concerts are sometimes hosted on the premises. The building has some wonderful historical touches, including an Ottoman "trap-door" staircase and the remains of a 2,500-year-old stone structure visible through the clear dining room floor.

PROS

  • Pleasant oasis in bustling Kaleiçi
  • Spacious, historic rooms with modern amenities
  • Lovely courtyard for lounging around the pool

CONS

  • Some occasional street noise
  • Pool is nice but on the small side
  • Spotty Wi-Fi
