Getting Here and Around

By car, Selçuk is about one hour from İzmir on Route E87, following the well-marked otoyol (toll highway) toward Aydın. The Selçuk exit is well marked. If driving from Selçuk to Ephesus, look for brown signs with its Turkish name, Efes.

Alternatively, if you do not want to rent a car, you can take a train to Selçuk from İzmir. The Denizli-bound trains depart from the Basmane station in central İzmir roughly every two hours and travel time to Selçuk is about 1½ hours; for schedules and online tickets, visit www.tcdd.gov.tr. A Selçuk extension of İzmir's suburban rail line, the İzban, is expected to be completed in late fall 2016. Local bus companies also offer minibus service to Selçuk, with departures from the main bus terminal in İzmir.

Travelers flying to İzmir with AtlasGlobal can take advantage of the airline's free shuttle service to Selçuk, while those booked on other carriers can take the Havaş shuttle to Kuşadaşı (20 TL), which stops in Selçuk upon request.
