Fodor's Review

Everyone in Dublin seems to have an opinion on the Central Bank. Designed by Sam Stephenson in 1978, the controversial, ultramodern glass-and-concrete building suspends huge concrete slabs around a central axis. It was originally one story higher, but the top floor had to be lopped off, as it was hazardous to low-flying planes. Watch out for—or just watch—the skateboarders who have taken over the little plaza in front of the building. With the bank due to move to new headquaters in the North Wall Quay area in 2016, there is a lot of excited discussion about future uses of the iconic building.
