Getting Here and Around

Although only two direct TGVs leave Paris's Gare de Lyon daily for Beaune (at 6:53 am and 4:53 pm), there are 19 trains in all, with changes at Dijon. Travel times vary from 2 hours 13 minutes to 4 hours, depending on transfers; fares range from €49.90 on the slower TER trains to €101.40 on the TGV. Beaune is 20 minutes from Dijon (€8) and gets plenty of train traffic from the through line to Lyon (€27.20). For those heading farther north, trains to Auxerre (€33.80), via Laroche Migennes, and a direct service to Sens (€36.70) are available. TRANSCO buses, departing from the SNCF station, run to Dijon via Nuits-St-Georges (No. 44, the wine-lovers line), and to Saulieu (No. 72, no service Sun.).
