Wild Honey

Wild Honey Review

Just follow the stream of savvy art dealers to a side road behind Christie's salesrooms (in New Bond St.) and you'll discover this hidden gem, wildly popular thanks to its set lunches (£16.95) or pre- and post-theater evening deals (£19.95). Set in a long oak-panelled former gentelmen's club, but nicely spruced up with attractive modern abstracts, Wild Honey has a kitchen that showcases hearty, unpretentious, but artfully presented, food: best bets include the shoulder of venison with creamy polenta, the Cornish plaice with squash and wild mushrooms, or the Norfolk hare with celery and chestnuts. For dessert, it would be remiss to go without the signature wild honey with crushed honeycomb combo. Happily, all 50-odd bottles on the wine list come in (ever-so-handy) 250ml carafes.
