L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon

L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon Review

A few doors down from The Ivy and arguably one of London's least publicised best restaurants, L'Atelier attracts both glitterati and food cognoscenti to sit side-by-side at the open-kitchen and graze tapas-style at this hyper-seductive staging post for French superchef Joël Robuchon. Framed with a green-leafy wall, moody lighting, and signature red glasses and raised counter seats, this space is custom-tailored for those who want to pig out on an orgy of exquisite French tapas—from frogs' legs and egg cocotte to scallops, pig's trotters, foie gras, and quail with buttery truffle mash. The £125 eight-course tasting menu is a wanton way to blow the inheritance, but the £25 and £29 lunch and pre-theater deals are an altogether saner way to go. There's a more formal restaurant, La Cuisine, on the first floor, and a cozy open-fired top-floor snug bar, too.
