An attractive four-star boutique hotel close to Borough Market, Shakespeare’s Globe and Tower Bridge, the London Bridge Hotel is a great reason for guests to base themselves in an area of the city thriving with cosmopolitan action. Equally apt for business and pleasure, the hotel’s levels of service inspire a loyal following.

You Should Know The location can be extremely busy during the morning and afternoon rush hour when it seems like the whole of London is rushing through London Bridge to get to where they’re going.

Smart rooms are decorated in neutral colors with the odd nod to London by way of framed pictures on the walls. Irons and ironing boards in rooms are a godsend for business travellers with creases to deal with.

Tip Standard rooms aren’t the biggest so we suggest you pay more if you value a little more floor space.

Bathroom

Simple bathrooms are clean—if a little cramped—and come with a shower and bath tub.

A stylish space to spend some time, the lobby is peppered with sleek couches, chic armchairs and modern art so don’t be afraid to pull up a pew and take a load off.

There is no gym on the premises but guests are offered complimentary access to a local gym close by.

Dining

White tablecloths, neutral panelled walls and hardwood floors provide a classic setting for the basement restaurant, which serves a range of gastro style favorites.

Drinking

The contemporary Quarter Bar is a space guests can feel happy to utilise if they lack the time or inclination to go exploring.

Getting Around

The recently developed London Bridge Station is a huge transport hub great for ease of access to both national travel and Tube lines. Just across the river from the City and close to the Shard, business travellers will find themselves in a convenient part of town. For pleasure, the area’s charming old streets are rife for exploring once you navigate the rush hour foot traffic, with walks to Borough and the South Bank recommended.

Restaurants

Eat simple, glorious pasta at Italian restaurant Padella (3-minute walk)—just be prepared to queue. It may be a chain, but the Borough branch of Brindisa (2-minute walk) is still the best and well worth making a special effort to visit for its gourmet tapas.

Bars

If you’re after something sleek and impressive with views then head to the 31st floor of The Shard and enjoy drinks at Aqua Shard (2-minute walk). Keeping it ground level, the Boot and Flogger (6-minute walk) is a grand old pub with a first-class wine list.
