Why We Like It

From the quirky artwork to the gorgeous wooden panelling, this cute townhouse bed and breakfast is classic Chelsea. Never has a name been more apt than that of At Home Inn Chelsea, and questionable puns aside, this is a beautiful, relaxed home away from home in the heart of one of London’s poshest neighborhoods.

Fodor's Expert Review

Owned and operated by two delightful hosts who have filled its shelves and walls with their own artistic endeavors, this sweet bed and breakfast offers the chance you’ve always wanted to live the Chelsea dream, which means nipping down the road to the Museums, shopping in Sloane Square and doing lunch on the Kings Road. Located in a rarefied part of London, this self-contained pad is perfect for couples looking for authentic upmarket living for a weekend or families who want the run of the entire place.

You Should Know Located on the top floor of an old building, access is by a winding staircase only, which might be a drawback for some guests.

Room

With two rooms available, visitors can share the space with one other set of guests or book the entire upper floor of the smart Chelsea townhouse. Decorated in fresh neutral whites, the addition of the owners’ artwork adds some eccentricity to the apartment.

Tip If just booking one room, opt for the option that comes with its own rooftop terrace with views over Chelsea.

Bathroom

Not unlike a luxury hotel, the bathrooms here are finished to a high standard with a sleek contemporary look.

Dining

The large, well-equipped kitchen is shared between guests, however, if you have the whole apartment then it makes for a great place to prepare big meals and eat around a communal table in a beautiful light-filled dining room.

What's Nearby

Getting Around

Bang in the heart of Chelsea, the property is surrounded by independent boutiques, restaurants and bars and offers a village way of life in the heart of the city. The Kings Road, Fulham Road and the South Kensington Museums are all close by, however, the nearest Tube at South Kensington is a 15-minute walk away which means that taking advantage of the masses of Black Cabs in the area is the best way to make short trips from the area. Ten minutes from the West End once you’re on a Tube, it really isn’t as isolated as it may sound.

Restaurants

Bahraini cuisine? Anyone who has ever eaten at Villa Mamas (17-minute walk) will answer that question with a resounding, "Yes, please!" because the gorgeous food here is excellent. If you want to live in Chelsea for a weekend then you’ll have to learn how to live the Chelsea way, which pretty much means eating at Bluebird Chelsea (6-minute walk) daily. Restaurant, café and food store, it’s a little bit of everything amazing.

Bars

As they say in Chelsea, "Drinks at The Botanist (26-minute walk) are always a good idea." ...Okay, actually no one says that, but they should. It’s not just the great cocktails that make it, there’s also a pretty parquet floor too. Decidedly Chelsea, Beaufort House (6-minute walk) is a multifaceted drinking and dining establishment set over various floors of a large iconic building on Kings Road. Visit to blend in with the well-to do locals.
