It takes a special place to attract visitors away from the shore on an island and dine inland at a restaurant that specializes in meat dishes rather than seafood. Located in a big garden, this restaurant exudes local charm, with all members of the family pitching in to cook and serve your meal. If you want to try their specialty, the traditional peka (lamb under the bell), be sure to order in advance. The bar stools are made of donkey saddles, you can see original olive presses and old gaslights, and they grow garlic in the garden alongside cactus and vineyards. There's no view of the sea, but you won't mind.
