Historium Bruges

Historium Bruges Review

Brugge's latest attraction, set to open in Fall 2012, is a multimedia and multi-sensory journey through time. Be transported back to 1435, and immersed in the sights, sounds, and—yes—even smells of the city as it was in its medieval prime. Seven rooms, five senses, and two lovers: this, per the press office, will comprise the centuries-old tale told by the Historium. To quote them on the sense of Smelling: "You can smell danger in a dark alley, where the rats feel at home. You'll smell wood, cotton and leather in the warehouse. A mix of ivory and copper and exotic spices. You can smell what's for dinner in the inn. You'll be stimulated by the smell of oil paint in the studio of Van Eyck and intoxicated by the perfumes in the bathhouse." You'll be exposed to a snow storm, windy gusts in back alleys, and other wonders. Sounds like a must-do!
