22 Best Hotels in Rincón and the Porta del Sol, Puerto Rico

Background Illustration for Hotels

The western part of the island near Rincón has a variety of hotels, from furnished villas geared toward families to beachfront hotels ideal for honeymooners. Interior design leaves much to be desired, however, as most rooms are decorated with faux wood, sun-bleached photographs, floral bedding, and white linoleum flooring. Fortunately, some of the newer accommodations resemble Spanish villas, a refreshing change from the typical 1970s decor. Surprisingly, the few hotels with Internet access only have it available in the common areas. Smaller beach cottages, especially in Rincón, usually have "adopted" dogs or cats roaming the premises, so guests with allergies may want to inquire ahead.

Aqua Marina Beach Club

$$ | 556 Black Eagle Rd., Rincón, 00677, Puerto Rico

The walled garden that surrounds this little inn makes it seem miles away from civilization, but it's actually within walking distance of several bars and restaurants. Guest rooms, which have mahogany sleigh beds and flat-screen TVs, are individually decorated in a style that could be described as "tropical elegant." The pool area—with an outdoor kitchen and a fire pit—is wonderful, especially at night, when lighted with the inn's trademark blue. Relax in the many nooks and crannies, including the lovely garden, where you'll see three resident turtles. This romantic inn is for guests who are at least 16 years old.
