Most of the island's resort hotels are on Grande-Terre: Gosier, St-François, and Bas-du-Fort are generally considered major resort areas, as is Ste-Anne. With each passing year, the hotels here improve. An example is the Golf Marine Hotel. Renovations will transform it from a simple property, good for golf buddies, to a refined boutique hotel.
