Bus Travel

Frequent buses travel from Hanoi to Haiphong, Ninh Binh, and other points in the area. Highly recommended companies operating the route include Hai Au, which is widely held to have the best service and cleanest buses. Buses depart from Gia Lam bus station near Hanoi’s Old Quarter and take around 2½ hours to complete the journey to Haiphong’s Niem Nghia bus station. The fare is about 85,000d each way and there are 11 buses each day. Good Morning Cat Ba, Cat Ba Express, and Dai Chi Buses are also good options.
