Nothing particularly stands out about the food at this legendary restaurant—it's just such fun. On summer weekends, people arrive en masse and sit for hours despite the relentless heat. The curious hybrid cuisine ensures plenty of rice, noodle, and fish dishes. The tom yung kung (spicy prawn and coconut soup) is guaranteed to bring color to your cheeks; the green curry is a safe chicken choice; and the honey-fried squid is a popular choice. Eating here is a festive experience, and you can do it without breaking the bank. Note, however, that you have to spend more than HK$300 to use your credit cards.

The Fodor review sums it up. To which I'd add that it's the perfect excuse to make the bus or taxi trip to Shek-O and see an entirely different side of seaside village life only 30-45 minutes' ride from the city centre.
