La Dolce Vita
La Dolce Vita Review
The food lives up to the name here: a basket of warm bread is served immediately, a nice treat in a city where good bread is hard to come by. The tough decision is between ravioli, tortellini, and oven-fired pizza. The rice-ball appetizer, with cheese and bits of ham inside, is fantastic.

As a full blooded Italian, I can honestly tell you that the food here was fantastic. I'm not sure if my mother could cook any better! The owner of the restaurant kept walking around. He's from Florence but used to live in Florida, so he speaks English. Don't pass this restaurant up!

My husband, myself and our 14 year old daughter stayed in Beijing this past August 2007 for 4 days. Unfortunately our teen is a very fussy eater, and I mean VERY. As much as we wanted to explore the local cuisine, we opted to try La Dolce Vita as pizza is a sure thing for her. We arrived late, just prior to closing and the staff was very accommodating and friendly, the atmosphere warm and inviting, and the food excellent. The pizza was the brick oven type, and delicious. My husband had a pasta dish that was very tasty. This is a restaurant that will cost a bit more than the local fare, but if you are in the mood for Italian, you won't be disappointed. Note, probably not a suitable place for young children. Pizza Huts in China are quite pleasant and much more enjoyable than in the states, and would be a better choice for little ones if that's what you want to eat.
