The "new" wing of the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC is a piece of art all to it's self. Designed by IM Pei with much of the controversy that welcomed his design of the Louvre addition. In the West Wing of the National Gallery of Art are Matisse's cut outs that still amaze me after so many years and draws me back to DC. Remember though there are very limited viewing hours so check before. Oh Miro's "carpet" is also incredible and always inspires my inner child. Lastly the Canadian Embassy across Pennsylvania Avenue, is the epitome of incredible architecture. Melding perfectly with it's surroundings and encompassing new and old motifs.

I am amazed that people are always forgetting the Nelson Art Gallery in Kansas City, that not only has one of the best Asian Art collections in America...but is also free each and every day
