LEGOLAND Opens in Philadelphia

Lego

Opening April 6th, Philadelphia's LEGOLAND Discovery Center will be the ninth Discovery Center in the States and the 17th in the world. The 33,000 square foot space, just 20 miles northwest of downtown Philadelphia in the Plymouth Meeting Mall, is chock full of all things LEGO, including a kid-sized race car that was made with more than 100,000 LEGO bricks.

Miniland Philadelphia contains 50 of the city’s iconic landmarks brought to life with nearly 1.5 million LEGO bricks—Independence Hall, Boathouse Row (with crew boats you can race), the Art Museum, and Lincoln Financial Field just to name a few. Fun fact: It took 930 hours, nine builders, and 17,760 bricks to build Liberty Place.

Other highlights include the interactive LEGO Ninjago Training Camp; a  LEGO 4D Cinema; a LEGO-themed pirate ship play area called Pirate Adventure Island; and the LEGO Friends area where you can “meet” Olivia, Emma, Stephanie, Mia, and Andrea and build all of your favorite Heartlake City things.

The center, geared towards children 3-10, is open daily and you should expect to spend 2-3 hours here. Plan to buy your ticket online at least 24 hours in advance to save 20%.
