Factory outlets near Lake Como

All this designer shopping talk on other threads made me think of a related question: Are there any factory outlets or great shopping destinations in or around Lake Como?

Has anyone here shopped at the Armani Factory Outlet?

What about the Lario outlet in Como; I've read that they supply Armani, Blumarine, Etro, etc...??

Many thanks!

Not well known outside the region, but a purveyor of high quality silk items is Frey (not to be confused with the Austrian jeweler of the same name). They have a factory shop close on the outskirts of Como (town). They are specially noted for their scarves and quilted jackets lined in vibrant patterned silk (I esp. like the ones lined with the silk antique map prints).

And don't forget Foxtown, the outlet mall just over the border in Ticino, Switzerland.

Thanks to both of you for responding. I had never heard of Frey!

I also found a Bric's (luggage and leather goods) outlet on the outskirts of Como. And leads to many, many more. I had no idea that this area was so fruitful for discount shopping!

Unfortunately, I will be with two friends who will have little interest so may have to confine myself to places in or near the town of Como..(willing to take taxi to find good bargains!!)

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but there's a shop I love called La Tessitura in Como. They are a silk manufacturer and their outlet shop has scarves, ties, home goods and fabric. They produce fabric for lots of designers and their stuff is gorgeous.

Many, many thanks!!

I am not looking for anything in particular and definitely not men's ties, but I love to look at beautiful creations and am sure I will find plenty to tempt me!! I will try to carve out a few hours for shopping in Como..
