Yikes! We just booked a flight to Portland. Help, dear Oregonians

Jump to last reply

.. or whatever you are called. We booked a last minute trip, 12 nights, arriving 20 Aug. This will be our first time in Oregon.

Our first three nights are booked in Portland. We will also spend our last night in Portland as we need to turn in our car and our flight home is fairly early. That leaves 8 nights. I am thinking four nights on the coast, Cannon Beach area and maybe Florence? Cannon Beach seems to be full so should we stay north or south of there... perhaps the Inn at Cannon Beach or the Lighthouse Inn?

We would like to spend two nights at Crater Lake or nearby (any lodging suggestions if we can't get in the Lodge?) and two nights at Timberline Lodge. We would take the road through Bend; is that too long a drive?

I know we will like the coastline but we also love the mountains.

Thanks for any helpful hints you can give.
