Yellowstone Park in February
A friend and I want to see Yellowstone in winter. Her son will have a condo near and we want to know what is available in the park. We're senior citizens but like some adventure. Possibly dogsledding if we have a driver; or walking. Is this a good thought for us?

The best thing for you would be cross-country skiing--quiet, easy to do (you have to hunt for hills, etc., the skiing is more like walking-gliding), lots of open area and trails. Nothing like Old Faithful covered in snow!

This may help you when making plans. I don't know of any dogsledding in the park, however there may some outside of the park.

Where will you be staying near the park - north, west, south? There's a dog sledding outfit at Chico Hot Springs north of the park www.extrememontana.com and another outfitter that lists West Yellowstone as one of their locations www.huskypower.com - we're actually trying to decide who to go with, so if anyone has gone sledding with either company, I'd love to hear your comments.
