Where do we stay in Door County, WI and why

We have narrowed our search to the bay side cities up the penninsula: Egg Harbor, Fish Creek, Ephraim, Sister Bay. Just the two of us, so anything from B&B to condo life to romantic cottage is appealing. Not looking to do anything in particular... just eat ice cream, ride bikes, skip rocks, poke into shops...

Where do you suggest? and why?

My personal preference is to stay in Fish Creek as it is the largest and liveliest town, with restaurants and many shops. It's also located approximately in the middle of the by side of the peninsula, so you can easily travel north or south to other towns. Fish Creek offers something for everyone--most of it within walking distance. Traffic gets quite congested downtown at times. Peninsula State Park is very nice to bike through. The park has more than one entrance, with one located right in the town of Fish Creek. We have biked through the park and it's lovely. We stayed at the Evergreen iniums in Fish Creek 2 years ago. They are townhouse style and are located next to the entrance to Peninsula State Park. We found Evergreen to be small & fairly quiet consisting of two condo buildings and one pool. Sounds like you'll have a lovely and relaxing vacation. Enjoy yourselves!

My spelling is atrocious! So sorry. Fish Creek is on the BAY side of the peninsula and it is the Evergreen CONDOMINIUMS. I must need a vacation! Have a swell time.

Agree that Fish Creek is the best location and one of the best towns to stay in. Cute town with lots of nice shops and good restaurants. Second best town to stay in is Ephraim, good location, nice harbor, a few good places to eat and good shops. All towns are very close to the park.
