Are you hearing much talk of people canceling summer plans for road trips, especially in the west?

I checked with two places where I have reservations around Yellowstone and neither has had any due to that yet. What are you hearing from friends, co-workers, etc. Just curious, I guess, or as my DH says, nosy. We aren't canceling. How about you?

We're not canceling either. Going for three weeks in Sept. towing our 18' trailer up through Oregon and northern California, touring vineyards, antiquing, covered bridges, redwoods etc. Will be camping and probably will not have hookups except every few days in order to save money to put towards gas.

Last time gas went this high we still traveled around California but noticed that there were not as many giant rvs on the road. I'll take my itty bitty trailer any day of the week. I remember talking to a guy up at Big Sur that summer. He lived closer to Big Sur than us and it still cost him nearly five times the amount in gas to get there. Those big rvs are comfy for sure but it would kill me to spend that much on gas.

Still taking mine but am making sure it involves public transportation. Not driving or planes. Well, am going to FL but ticket is paid for.

We don't have any big road trips planned, although we will head up to the mountains at least once and maybe go up to the CA north coast. We drive a regular car that gets reasonable gas mileage though, so we aren't impacted as much as people who drive larger vehicles and/or pull trailers.

I do know people who have cancelled vacations due to the cost of gas though.
