What are the 'must see/do's" in Sonoma County?

As soon as I recover from San Diego, going to Sonoma co...then on to Phoenix and back to San Jose. Probably on to New Mexico...and we are moving in between.

So, starting at the beginning, what shall I look to do while in Sonoma.? Loveitaly, are you listening? HELP>

Well, let's see....Sonoma is WINE country so maybe you will want to visit a few wineries, lol! Are you planning a coastal stop or staying in the valley touring?

The weather has been really nice other than today as it is raining. Everything is blooming so bring your allergy meds if you take them.

Wine tasting is the #1 thing to do but you can also hike or take a drive to the coast to enjoy the ocean.

We have gone hot air ballooning up there and it was really cool.

clara...can you be a bit more specific about where you'll be in the county (it's HUGE) I've been many times (so have others here) and have favorite wineries in may different parts. Some have art work, some have gardens, etc. Each is different Sonoma and Healdsburg are great towns to visit as well. I also love quaint Geyserville...

You could spend a lot of a day on and around the square in Healdsburg...shopping, dining, and wine tasting. I love it there. Just discovered a bottle of Lake Sonoma Zin from last year, in my wine frige. I'll bet it's REALLY good now.

While is Sonoma, a visit to the Domaine Carneros chateau is a "must-do," in my opinion.

The setting & view are both spectacular!

And a couple of my many favorites in Sonoma:

There are so many wineries to visit and most of them are gorgeous. I would recommend going from the town of Sonoma to the town of Healdsburg and hitting the wineries in between. Both are lovely towns with great restaurants. I liked The Girl and the Fig restaurant in Sonoma and Glen Ellen (?).

Sonoma and Healdsburg are both charming towns centered around their own town square. If you go to Healdsburg, I'd recommend a drive out of town on Dry Creek Road. You'll be right in the middle of the agricultural beauty of the vineyards, and you might see a small or even a larger winery that beckons you to stop. You might pick up picnic supplies in Healdsburg before you take that drive.

If you go to Sonoma, you might find a brief tour of the mission interesting (it's right on the square). A visit to one of the historical wineries near town would be nice also.

Jack London STate Historical Park in Glen Ellen is wonderful, and the entire Sonoma coast is as beautiful as Scotland.
