Weekend in Dec in Westchester NY

Any restaurant recommendations in Westchester for a Sat/Sun in December? Also, Tarrytown Marriott or White Plains Rennaisance?

Thanks

Both are fine hotels. I would think it would depend on which location is more convenient. The Marriott is a couple miles off the Tappan Zee Bridge, while the Renaissance is about 8-10 miles from the bridge.
As for restaurants, the usual questions:
What type(s) of food? How much do you want to spend? How far do you want to drive?

Howard, Thank you

Looking for Italian or Continental up to $50 - $60 per person including wine. Good local Italian that's not too fancy , but, good food would be great. Local travel preferred but am open.

HowardR, Maybe you can help. I'm thinking of Xavier's which is in Piermont, correct? It's been a while since I've been there but the food was fantastic.

Michelle I seem to recall someone posting (I think Scarlett) that Xavier's is now closed. I also don't think of Piermont as being that close to either Tarrytown or White Plains but I could be wrong

I think 147747 should decide on location first. I also suggest checking chowhound.com or egullet.com for rest. suggestions.

If you stay in Tarrytown, try Scaramella's in Dobbs Ferry, just 5 minutes away. Atmosphere is plain but the food is very good.

Xavier's in Piermont is still open. It's the one in Garrison that closed. I say, "Go for it!" You can't do any better. Just remember three things:
1. It's very expensive (but worth every penny).
2. It doesn't take credit cards.
3. You better make reservations immediately! You might already be too late.
As far as distance, Piermont is just over the Tappan Zee Bridge, so certainly within driving distance from either Tarrytown or White Plains.
Scaramella's is good (but it's more like 15 minutes away). Other decent Italian include Terra Rustica (on North State Road in Briarcliff Manor) and Tramonto (on Route 9A/Saw Mill River Road in Hawthorne).
Still, nothing can compare with Xavier's!

Oh my, that's right! They don't take credit cards. Well, bring lots of cash but yes, I must say that it really was pretty phenominal. I don't remember how long in advance we made reservations but I believe it was a couple of weeks for a Sat. evening.

Tarrytown to Piermont - 8 miles - about 15 minutes
White plains to Piermont - 13 or so miles -20 t0 25 minutes
Lots of construction on the Tarrytown side of the Tappan Zee so delays are very possible
