Waikiki with Dad - taxis, Arizona Mem., etc.

So my 89-soon-to-be-90-year old Dad wants to go to Waikiki one more time. He was in the AF so we will be staying at the Hale Koa. He can't walk more than a quarter mile at the most and I am wondering how to get him around. Will a taxi or Uber, Lyft take us like quarter mile to a restaurant? Do they have Uber and Lyft in Waikiki? We will rent a car but we're thinking only for a couple of days. Maybe we should get it for the entire time.

He would like to go to The Arizona Memorial but how can I do it? Are there wheelchairs available?

Thnx

A walker is an excellent idea and I totally agree. Dad doesn't. I'll check the rentals. Thanks for the link.

I would rent a car for your entire trip. I think it would be well worth the expense in this situation.

Especially if Dad won't use a walker or a chair, then you want the rental car the entire time!

Just walking from the parking lot at Pearl Harbor to the site will be difficult.

Explain to your Dad that using a walker or a wheel chair would ease the burden on you and allow him to explore more. Why tire yourselves out just to make it out of the parking lot. If there are prideful moments, he can stand and leave the chair.

Thanks so much for your thoughts and ideas. Agree on the car.

I will check on renting a walker.
