Transportation between Houston Hobby and Houston International airports
Does anyone have suggestions for the least expensive way to transfer between these two airports? Thanks for your help.

Least expensive is by Metro bus. Route 101 Airport Express, $1.50, takes about 90 minutes. Bus every 20-30 minutes.

Thanks so much, rkkwan. I see your helpful China posts often and was surprised to see you reply to a Houston question. We live in Corpus Christi and it is easy to book last-minute flights to Houston Hobby (Southwest). We will be flying space available from Houston International to Hong Kong next month.

CO's flight to HKG via EWR leaves at around 7:50am from IAH, so I guess you'll be coming up the night before. And, the bus is indeed a lot cheaper than a taxi, which has a flat zone rate from HOU to IAH for $51. ($51.50 from IAH-HOU)
Or pay me, and I'll drive from HOU to IAH for a little less than $51.

rkkwan: Thanks for your offer! Yes, we'll fly up the day before, spend the night (I got a great rate for the Mariott Greenspoint near IAH for $35++), and leave early the next day on United via Chicago. Actually, we may end up in Beijing first, but that's o.k. We're flexible and aren't making any hotel reservations in advance.

Jane - You're going to spend a lot of time for the transfer, from plane to bus to another hotel shuttle to the Marriott. Sure it's cheap, but I am not sure that's a good way to travel. You may also want to take a look at a cheap rental car. Many firms let you pick up at one airport and drop off at another. Just ask about the tax and fees involved, as it often exceeds 30-40% of rental. Still, if you get something for $20/day, that's not a bad deal.
