I've posted a set of photos on Shutterfly that I took from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and from the sky above it during a helicopter tour last August, which you can find by clicking here:

Nice Pics. We have always seen the Desert View as our first stop and it is a good way to start out a visit there.
Thanks for posting the grand pictures, I still love the south rim best.
Beautiful pics, I have been twice, brings tears to my eyes. Thanks for sharing.
I wanted to go to the Rim with the sky platform. But I heard it's a waste of time as the view aint much. Also, the owners confiscate your cameras, cell phones, etc. as they dont want photos taken of it or from it.
So, is it worth while, especially if you hate heights?
Pomah,
Do you mean the West Rim or South Rim-worth it? I think everyone should see it--I do agree with those that think the west rim/glass sky thingy is a tourist trap and not really the true GC experience. I've only seen the glass from the bottom on a rafting trip, so I can't say totally for sure.
